I was once sitting with a high-level client who was mid-panic attack, withdrawing from medication. No technique. No protocol. Just breathing together, with simple counting. That was enough. It started with one breath.
Anthony Abbagnano, Founder
Alchemy of Breath
Survival Was Never The Plan
So many of us have spent years, lifetimes even, stuck in survival. Fight, flight, freeze, as a way of being. Not as an emergency response. As a long-time way of being. You know the feeling.
Regulation doesn’t mean life stops being complicated. It doesn’t mean nothing will ever get under your skin again. It means when things do, and they will, you have a way back. A more available breath. The one that helps you not say the thing you’ll spend days wishing you hadn’t.
Breathe first. Everything else second. Regulation kicks in from there.
Science-informed. Grounded in respiratory physiology and nervous system understanding.
Experiential. You learn by practicing with fellow participants, not sitting in lectures.
Spacious. Designed for real integration, not information overload.
In their own words
“These last 7 days were the most amazing experience of my life. They brought me to my purpose, to the clarity I’d been looking for. If you get the chance to go to ASHA, it will awaken your soul.”
“Dysregulation is so familiar, but it has a way of cutting me off from the people around me whom I love. It’s like the negative pole of a magnet that pushes away the people I want to draw close.”
Jeremy · USA
“My reactionary attitude causes my nervous system to dysregulate, which accounts for my quickly climbing blood pressure. And that’s just the physical symptom. Imagine the emotional and spiritual ramifications.”
A student · Istanbul
“Keeping things simple, being in nature, breathwork is my go-to for the spikes.”
Tony · United Kingdom
“Whenever a difficult emotion arises I take a few deep breaths, look at it, respect it, and try to direct it inwards to its original source. Whatever happens in the world around me, a new deep calmness remains inside.”
An AoB graduate · Sweden
The Methodology
For 14 years, we’ve been teaching people to consciously breathe. Now we’re giving it the structure it deserves. Six stages of regulation, received in your own body across the week. The same six stages you’ll guide others through as a certified Coach. Tap any stage to see what it builds.
Stage One
You come back to your own breath. Before any technique, before any protocol, you sit with what has always been there.
This is what Anthony calls marrying your breath. A return to what the body already knew. Quieter than you remembered. More available than you knew.
Stage Two
You stop thinking of breath as relaxation or deep breathing. You start understanding it as a three-dimensional, nervous-system intervention.
The body work lands here, and so does the history. What you’ve been carrying becomes visible, and there’s room to set some of it down.
Stage Three
The felt sense becomes something you can draw on. Window of tolerance, pendulation, titration, co-regulation. They stop being terminology and start being how you read what’s happening inside you.
You stop being lost when things get charged. You always have somewhere to come back to.
Stage Four
The 90-second protocol arrives. You can settle yourself on demand. In a meeting, in traffic, in the middle of the thing you used to lose yourself inside of.
A tool you didn’t have seven days ago. One that will be yours for every week after.
Stage Five
The three-dimensional breath and the 12-minute protocol arrive together. Two practices that meet the nervous system where it actually lives.
You stop using breath only for yourself. You start using it for others. Your calm nervous system becomes someone else’s anchor. A signal of safety.
Stage Six · The summit
The practicum. You deliver your own session, in your own voice, with your own hands.
You graduate as the person who can do this when it matters. For yourself first. And if you choose, for the people you serve.
After You Leave
A 10-hour online post-ASHA study completes your training. This is what makes you ready for full certification. The residential week gets you in the practice; this brings the foundations home with you.
What You Leave With
You’re not coming to learn about regulation. You’re coming to feel it, day after day, in your own body, until it stays. By the end of the week these tools live in you, not in your notebook.
A 12-minute daily breathing practice you will do hands-on all week
A complete morning regulation practice. For your own nervous system first, then for the people you work with.
A 90-second reset you practice until it becomes second nature
For acute stress, yours or someone else's. Simple enough to remember when it matters most.
A hands-on introduction to the session framework
Practiced with partners: landing, assessing, guiding, and closing a 10 to 15 minute breath session.
The ability to recognize common dysfunctional breathing patterns
Chest breathing, over-breathing, breath holding, paradoxical breathing. Learned through observation and partner practice.
Your certification as an Alchemy Regulation Method Coach
GPBA ethically compliant. The credential to offer the work professionally, and the first step into the full AoB facilitator pathway.
Your Coach Certification
You leave ASHA as a certified Alchemy Regulation Method Coach. Here’s what that opens.
Charge for the work. Build a paying practice around what you’ve learned, on your own terms.
Work professionally as a certified Alchemy Regulation Method Coach — one-on-ones, group sessions, teaching, holding space for others.
Your certification sits within the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance ethical framework. A recognised standard you and your clients can stand on.
Add the Method to the work you already do, or build a new practice around it. The certification works either way.
The full pathway
Continue from here into the full facilitator training and, in time, open your own Alchemy of Breath school if you choose. This is where that journey begins.
The Setting

Your own regulation, your own body. Everything you’ll later offer to others builds from there. No prior breathwork training required.
This training does not cover
Conscious connected breathwork delivery, trauma catharsis, somatic release, or altered-state practices. You will experience a conscious connected breathwork session during the week. If you want to learn to deliver it, you continue from here into the full facilitator training.
Investment
Your investment covers the full 60-hour training (online and on-land), 7 days at ASHA, and three meals a day. The only thing not included is your flight to Tuscany.
